After Jvar left (Date: Thu Feb 22 23:04:42 2001) In the dark interior of the Slain Hero Lilith looked at shelves then wrote in a small leatherbound book as Brannin entered behind her, looking at her carefully. Brannin's voices changed slightly.. curious. 'You are even more hostile to Us than your usual benevolent self Lilith.' She made no move to indicate she had seen or heard him. So he went on, pointedly saying to her. 'Oh.. We saw Bryn today.' Finally Lilith glanced up at him. 'That's nice.' She verbally dismissed it. 'Her nephew was with her.' He continued to try and barb her into paying attention to him. 'She was quite inebriated. It appears you have told Niclos not to talk or listen to Us, so We left him in the care of a drunk sidhe in the middle of the medievil fair.' Lilith frowned at the inebriated comment then shrugged. 'I do recall saying that yes. You know all about drunk don't you apprentice.' Lilith wrote something else down without looking up. 'Not really.' He replied. 'We've only experienced it once. You were there.. you should remember, it was not a pleasant experience. Right before jvar came into Us... which leads us back to the question at hand.' 'Doesn't it always.' She still refused to look at him. 'I suggest you stay away from them both as I have told them to stay away from you.' 'You have little sway over Our actions Lilith... the only one who claimed such power is gone.. at least in one form.' Brannin said simply. Lilith took something down from a shelf and replaced it with something else, making a small note of it as she did. Brannin said to her. 'But your son holds little interest to Us.' She ignored his comment and said. 'Good ridance to him.' It was clear she did not mean Niclos when she said Him. 'Oh?' Brannin folded his arms in front of him.. his talons hidden by the sleeves of his cloak. 'Oh what?' Lilith talked as she worked, not looking up. 'Of all people, We had thought Jvar would be the last you wished gone.' He said to her. 'I wish everyone gone. He's just one more down.' She passed it off as if it were nothing. 'Everyone?' He seemed incredilous. 'Even those of your line? Niclos?' 'They will die eventually. Less people the better. No matter what blood is in their viens' She shrugged. 'Not as if he is really my blood anyway.' 'You have never been a liar Lilith, do not start.. if you did not care for Niclos well being you would not have told him to stay away from Us in the foolish thought that We'd harm him.' 'I don't fear you harming him, I fear you will turn him into another Bryn.' She says her Grand daughters name in faint disgust as if she'd seen a rat dart across the floor. Brannin verbally shrugged. 'It matters not.. you still fear he will be taken away either in death or loyalty.' Lilith near sneered. 'I dont need your kind ruining more of my family.' Brannin blinked and asked. 'Our.. Kind?' 'I don't fear death, for anyone. Better death then turning them into dishonorable little drunks. And gods only know what else she is.' Lilith's disgust with her supposed Heir was now clear in words if not tones. 'I imagine if she hasn't already, men aren't far behind, just like her mother.' Lilith kept her tone cold while she continued her work. 'We very much doubt the comman man would try his way with her.. they are not brave enough.. she is still of your blood Lilith.. quite volitile when she wishes to be.' Brannin's tone sounded almost proud. 'Perhaps it is a family trait amoung your females. but that is not of importance.' Lilith snorted, if it was in amusement, disbelief or disgust wasn't clear however. 'Jvar's leaving has affected you greatly.. you are slipping Lilith... We can see the emotions running across your face even as We speak his name. You can see for yourself.. if you wish..' Brannin gestured a sleeved arm to his mirrored eyes.. the room reflects back at them though slightly distorted. Finally the demoness looked up and glared up at him,. 'If you have something important to say then do so, or leave.' Brannin's body language remained one of unreal calm.. even while the flesh beneath the robe crawled and bumped. 'Even your voice. We shall again offer you a favor.. in exchange for the information We need.' Lilith glared as her jaw moved slightly before she looked back to what she was doing. 'I have no interest in your favors apprentice.' 'Our loyalties to clan and Lord cannot be comprimised.. for we are not a betrayer.. but anything else is privy to you asking.' He went on with his offer. Lilith made to move a glass figurine from a shelf but it shattered in her hand. Ingoring it she moved back to the counter as if nothing had happened. 'Oh...' Brannin seemed to recall something. 'We have something for you. At least We believe it is for you.' He removed a crystal pendant from a black void. 'We had an odd dream.' Brannin spoke as if expecting her not to listen anyways. 'A snake and an owl were after the same mouse.. both got there first..But the mouse was swift and neither could quite catch it.. so they worked together and caught the mouse. They decided they would always catch mice together since it worked better than alone.' He glanced at her as he told his story. 'But then the Owl flew away. And dropped his promise.' Lilith clentched her jaw, but didn't stop what she was doing. 'We dreamt that We picked it up. And when we awoke... this was in our hand.' Brannin gently laid the pendant down on the counter. 'Our gift of vision is never very predictable.. but this is something unique. We do not know what it means. But We felt compelled to give this to you.' Brannin dropped a crystal pendant at her feet. Lilith glanced down at the pendant but didn't make any move towards it. Brannin shrugged as she tightened her hands into a fist. He bent down and picked it back up, placing it on the counter. 'Hmmm..' The pendant slid back to the arm of Brannin on the counter and he pushed it away only to have it slide back again. Almost as if the demon's anger were repelling it. The demoness herself turned her back on Brannin and the stone necklace. 'Curious.' Brannin said quietly. 'It seems We are to keep this... ' Lilith spoke over her shoulder, her voice a harsh whisper. 'It can be curious all it wants. Leave apprentice.' 'You wish Us to leave?' He seemed amused and asked. 'What shall be exchanged for this favor?' Folding her arms, Lilith doesn't turn around. 'You heard me.' The at his humored tones she spun around, her eyes glowing in sudden rage. 'There is no exchange. What I know dies with me apprentice. Now leave!' Brannin mets her rage with his usual calm.. his unblinking eyes staring out from beneath the cloak. Lilith clentched her jaw as demon fire danced in her eyes. 'Perhaps you did not hear me? You are not welcome here dragon.' 'tsk tsk... you are slipping.. such display's of rage would drive away potential customers, Lilith.. you must learn control, and it is always an exchange.. a game... We will leave, for now.. but you may have what We wish and will return until we have it... We have eternity to torment you if it requires such.' The shadows flicker like dark fire and Brannin is gone. Lilith glared icily at nothing in particular. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brannin tells you 'Wow brannin has never won before.'
