The Dragon's Curse
Kashna, the Black Dragon
The Story of Kal Daka and the Black Dragon
The family DarkAmber has been around a long time. The
curse of the DarkAmber stems from when the family was
still know as Kal Daka. This family has always been
ambitious, shewd and dark of heart. They were the favored
clan of the Dark Gods, made powerful alias and deadly
enemies.
This would be their down fall. One of the more powerful
of the family, C'tuk, then the head of the family, was
always seeking power and ways to destroy his enemies. So
when he read of the great Kashna in an ancient scroll, he
knew what it was he wanted. It was said that Kashna was
once a mortal deciple of Chacemak, the Dragon God. She
pleased her Lord so much, he gave her the gift of draconic
immortality. As the tale went, if she was killed, and her
eyes, wings, and claws were properly set by magic, would
bring the wearer great powers.
The Eyes would give great insight into the future and would
bring powers of the mind to the wearer.
The Wings would bring great magical powers and the mastery
of the powers of the air.
The Claws were said to bring the greatest power over all,
yet never said just what that was.
It was the Claws of the Black Dragon that C'tuk would seek.
His quest would not be an easy one however. Kashna was
immortal. But even immortals cam be killed, as it was with
the Black Dragon. Only one thing could do that, the very
thing that gave her the powers of the dragon. A small orb,
then called the Orb of Chaos. This orb would later be used
by Devane to trap the Angel of Destiny and kill the Dragon
God himself and is now known as the Destiny Stone. It is
an orb of unknown origins and holds great powers. It was
this that Chacemak used to make his beloved deciple into
the immortal dragon. And it was this that would kill her.
Obtaining this orb wasn't easy, but C'tuk used every backstabbing,
evil way he knew and soon had the orb in his possession.
And the location of his prey to go with it.
And so the battle would begin. It was a long bloody fight
that nearly ended with C'tuk's death. The overconfident
mage tried to fight her without the orb, thinking his own
powers would be enough. But he did use the orb and killed
Kashna, but before she died, she said this curse,
"Curse you Kal Daka! Guardian of the Damned I call upon
you! Take this soul and those of his decendants into your
care. Take these claws Kal Daka and all the power that
goes with them, and may you be forever alone, alone for
enternity, alone while surrounded by family that will be
just as alone. I curse your line to the damnation of the
lonely!"
And with that the family was cursed. C'tuk never got to
use his plunder, as he died soon after. Leaving the claws
and Eyes of the Black Dragon to the care of his family. It
would be over a thousand years before any of the cursed
would dare use them.
It was the generation when the name Kal Daka came to be
known as DarkAmber. It would be the first of this new
family that would take these items as her own. Kaylin,
wife of Shadow the DarkAmber, who would be the first to
use them. She would be trapped in the Destiny Stone. A
fitting way to go when you think about it.
It would be her daughters that would later take these items.
The worldly spirits of Death and Destruction, yet they
were never to take on their roles as demons and were raised
by a reformed Shadow and half-angel Akalia. Lilith would
take the Claws of the Black Dragon, and Sirius the Eyes.
Sirius would destroy one eye and give the other over to
the care of the Goddess of Night. While Lilith would
choose to take the claws for her own.
The curse still stands, Sirius has seen it for herself,
and been forced to be alone and without those she loved
many times. Lilith is just coming to realize her curse,
and fears giving it to her son Eyas. She is currently
seeking away to spare him from the families curse.
