The Tale Of...
As Told By the Ancient Tomes:
s it is written, the creator race once flourished throughout the realm, holding peace absolute. Then the sky turned black as night for six days. On that seventh day, when the light returned, the darkness was left behind in patches throughout the realm. Almost all natural life was abolished in that darkness. Within, an ultimate evil grew ever stronger until it was able to leave the darkness and hunt the living. The realm was filled with the pain and suffering of the innocent and the cries of children filled the nights sky. The creator race fought hard against the evil and was able to trap it, but at a great cost. The entire race fell, giving back their strength to the gods that had created them. This act gave the gods the power to trap the evil for all eternity, as was done. The selflessness of the creator race touched the gods and the gods wished to create more, but unfortunately, they had spent the energies of the creator race to trap the ultimate evil. Within the shell trapping the ultimate evil, the evil grew weaker, not being able to feed, but at an extremely slow rate. It was determined by the gods that once every ten thousand millennia, enough energy could be removed from the trapping shell to create a creator race infant. Talos was the first to come into being.
uring his early years and for the first few centuries, Talos was unaware of his full uniqueness. He avoided human kind, due to their sudden occurrences of brutality, and instead lived in the forest and wilderness as a child and young man. It was not long before he realized that the life expectancy of the average human was around 60 years, and he had surpassed this by several hundred. At that point Talos decided to learn more about Humans that passed through the forest in which he lived. It was in this choice that Talos discovered his true nature. On one occasion, Talos had been following an elderly man on horse back for some time. In the evening, the elderly man set up camp with a small fire and cooked some meat. Talos found a small spring and some mushrooms for his nourishment and while eating then hear the old man shout. Reacting quickly, Talos investigated the cause for the out burst. The cry was well founded as nearly a dozen goblins approached the elderly man. Talos felt a strange sensation deep inside himself to take action, so he did so without fore thought. Stepping forward from the seclusion of the dense forest, Talos easily drew the attention the goblins with his well built and formidable structure. With no preemptive planing, Talos was at a loss at to what to do. One goblin came forward and raked his claws across his chest. The fire of pain shot through Talos body and was followed by another spark in his left leg, then he was on the ground. A goblin had tackled him to the ground and left to finish this weak threat. Thinking back to what he had learnt from humans, he remembered an interesting tool they used to cut meat that would have been useful in the current situation. Bleeding badly and weaponless, Talos clenched his fist in anger awaiting a painful death. Instead, the markings on his are lit up and upon clenching his fist, he found a sizable dagger. Wasting little time, he dug the silver blade into the side of the lone attacking goblin. The goblin, now injured, ran back to the crowd of other on looking goblins. Talos trying to reason how he came into possession of the dagger wished for nothing more than the throbbing in his dead to stop. To his surprise more markings on his chest and leg flared and his wounds closed and he felt comparatively better for it. Now able to think more clearly, Talos entire body started to glow gently red as a goblin leapt to the air. Talos tied to side step the goblins attack but a bolt of lighting arching off Talos body incinerated the attacker before it could hit the ground. The remaining goblins, seeing their counterpart turned to dust, made no wait in fleeing into the forest.
neeling down to the elderly man on the ground, Talos was able to use his basic understanding of the human language to communicate that he was of no danger to the old man. Sitting up to the small fire, the elderly man introduced himself as Ädher, a teacher of the Holy Warrior ways. Through the night, until morning, Talos and Ädher talked. Ädher told Talos of the ways of humans and in turn, Talos told Ädher of his life in the forest. By morning, Talos felt very comfortable with his new friend and their plans to travel together.
n the years that followed, Ädher taught Talos the ways of humans and the holy warrior. Talos, using his healing abilities, prolonged Ädhers life seven times what it would have normally been. Talos was left alone the in the realm after Ädher had asked that Talos stopped his healing and curing magic on him so he finally find peace with the gods. Talos wandered the realm for several centuries gaining experience and vast knowledge. Magnifying his already strong magical abilities, Talos was able to strength and focus his talents on magic skills that would help others and rid the world of the evil that he instinctually had a distaste for. The gods had incorporated this into Talos in hopes that he would grow strong enough to one day enter the shell trapping the ultimate evil and destroy it, freeing the energy from the shell once again to fill the world with the creator race.
