So what's the story behind the families connection with wolves?
It's this. As a child, the now centuries old Matron, Lilith, was a wanderer. At an early age she spend a great deal of time in the wilderness. And few know, she was going to become a druid until she met Arawn. Another story altogether.
She found, or perhaps was found by, a pack of wolves. She lived with them until the day she left her home for what most assumed was for good. But she did go back. Nearly 40 years later she went back for the pack, and brought them with her to the forests of Lensmoor.
This pack now lives in the thick forests hidden behind the DarkAmber tower. When ever a family member is born, they are paired with one of the new wolf pups are are raised with it. If Lilith requires a new familiar, she goes to the pack to seek willing wolves to join her in the world of people.
Over the countless decades, many wolves have past the service of the family, as kin and pack members. The two are forever linked.
